John Carnemolla started work in 1957 as an assistant cameraman at Movietone News and then as a cameraman. From there he moved to ATN Channel 7 in Sydney as a news cameraman before leaving in 1970 to freelance as a stills photographer doing picture stories for magazines. John started the Australian Picture Library in 1979 with photo researcher Jane Symons and shot stock photography from then on. He sold the library in 2007 and now still shot stock pictures for a number of libraries both in Australia and overseas.
