Davo Blair With a passion for the natural environment and forests in particular, Davo completed a degree in Forest Science at Melbourne University. Since then, he has gone on to become involved with and photographed a wide range of scientific field research projects and conservation efforts both internationally and in Australia. These experiences have given him a deeper understanding for the subject matter of his photographs.
Davo has photographed many endangered species in their natural habitat, including orangutans, Javan hawk-eagles, silvery gibbons, green sea turtles and a range of native Australian fauna. Pursuit of these subjects has taken him through the tropical rainforests of Indonesia, the Canadian Rocky Mountains, to New Zealand, Ireland and the United States and through Australia’s tropical and temperate forests, deserts, rivers, wetlands and coastal areas. Davo’s images have been widely published including Magic of Borneo (New Holland), Asian Geographic, Australian Geographic, GEO Australasia, Endangered Species, ACF Wilderness Diary, Australian Photography, Wild and Nature Australia. Davo lives with his family, surrounded by native forest and wildlife at Healesville, east of Melbourne. He also enjoys hiking, paddling, mountain biking/cycling and rock climbing.
